When I was growing up in Lewiston, Idaho I would regularly visit the newsroom of the Lewiston Morning Tribune with my dad, who was a sports and feature reporter there. I caught the journalism bug early!

A lot has changed since then, especially how independent journalism is paid for. We’re lucky to have the support of grants, but to continue being independent we need you to contribute to Buffalo’s Fire. There’s a match from KLJ Engineering to inspire you to give today.

I started at Buffalo’s Fire a year ago after a long career in public broadcasting. So asking anyone to support journalism isn’t new to me. But this is different: because I’m asking you to support a Native-led digital nonprofit news organization that is completely independent from government and tribal support.

Our goal is $5000 by March 15. I know we can do it with your help.
